Scoring tests of 50 or 100 questions using a Scantron machine is no
problem. The machine prints the number of correct answers on the Scantron
sheet and since each answer is worth 1 or 2 points each, the rest is easy.
If, however, there are 82 questions in the test, then scoring becomes
somewhat more bothersome. SCORE4 is a handy utility that can be of help in
such situations. Just type SCORE4 <ENTER> and you will be prompted for the
total number of questions in the test (up to a maximum of 184).
SCORE4 will prompt you to "press `R' for RIGHT or `W' for wrong".
Pressing `R' will cause SCORE4 to base it's calculations on the number of
answers that were right: 10 RIGHT = 100
9 RIGHT = 90
8 RIGHT = 80
Pressing `W' will cause SCORE4 to base it's calculations on the number of
answers that were wrong: 0 WRONG = 100
1 WRONG = 90
2 WRONG = 80
If more than one screen is required, SCORE4 will permit you to
re-display the first screen again and again.
Rather than incorporate assorted printer routines for all the possible
printers out there, I decided to do it the easy way. If you want a print out,
just hit the <SHIFT> and <PRINT SCREEN> keys simultaneously. This will do a
screen dump to your printer. This can be done twice to print out both screens
which will fit nicely onto a single sheet of paper.
It's quick. It's easy. It does save time and, best of all, you'll never
feel you overpaid.
Enjoy
